semi-japanese style breakfast to start the day-
the ryokan staff gave me a pack of sweets when he they heard I was going to cycle around the lake that day! Sweet, literally.
made a tactical error of renting an e-bike LOL BECAUSE IT WAS SO HEAVY AND I DID NOT USE THE POWER ASSIST AT ALL BECAUSE I FOUND IT TOO FAST AND SCARY LOL. so who's the clown lugging around a heavy bike? me!
I am just really bad at cycling since I hardly cycle (I can even tell you the exact date I last cycled prior to this, which was in 2018, so I really hardly cycle LOL) I struggled so hard to cycle straight and it's the worst when I have to cycle on the road with cars driving past me OMG I have never prayed harder LOL
I made so many stops at picturesque places around the lake but my favourite is Koumi Park!
I bet I won't recognise this place in summer when everything is green hahaha.
just super glad to be back in one piece. and also to return the bike in one piece, LOL.
had lunch at a Hōtō noodle restaurant with a high google review rating, and the snaking queue outside just raised my expectations further
It's a flat udon in vegetables miso soup. I found it super bland and didn't like it at all...
it's also piping hot which makes it difficult to eat and I can't imagine eating it on days above 15°C ????
took a sightseeing boat around the lake as well
got some cakes from a pastry shop called Le pain de Daniel which had pretty good google reviews:
They are famous for their napoleon pastry, which is a strawberry mille-feuille. There's so many reviews saying that's the best they ever had etc etc, and yes I agree the pastry was super crispy but overall I thought it was abit dry and the pastry was more like a cracker?? It cost about SGD10!
I also got a chocolate dome cake, it was okay.
