Our room faced the sheep pen, and we were like less than 5m away from it, so we could hear their mehs right at the crack of dawn (which was around 5am), and also when we were going to bed (the sky went dark close to 11pm)
Breakfast at their in-house fancy restaurant. Anyway, I call it fancy because they have a strict dress code for dinner- no trainers/sandals, no denim, no shorts etc. So I had to bring a pair of heels and a dress just for my dinners here (I wore the same outfit for dinner on both nights).
Breakfast (and dinner) with a view!!!
Also ate a trifle before I started my hike.
Bye hotel! I was about 25minutes into the hike at this point.
First of many cairns I came across. They serve as very useful landmarks especially at times when google maps do not work.
A very unflattering selfie of me but I just wanted to show that I went from warm to freezing in 5 minutes -
LOL. I started my hike in a jacket, but I started perspiring and it got uncomfortably warm so I removed my jacket, but then it was windy and my shirt was already wet at that point so I got cold. Anyway, the weather wasn't great that day too. It was raining on and off.
One of the many stiles that I had to get across on my hike. I find them really fun to cross and there's so many different types of stiles.
This is my favourite section of the walk. It is also where I took the first photo of this post. But I took it on my way back, and it got very gloomy then.
I literally got slapped by the SAND while walking across this ridge LOL. It was windy and the wind picked up the sand, so that was how I got slapped. I had to crouch a few times!
Cement factory that served as a useful directional cue.
Winnats Pass (the one where my auntie and I caused a massive jam the day before HAHA)
I was inspired by the cairns I saw and built one in my auntie's backyard HAHAH it's quite legit. I'll post a photo later.
Reached the peak of Mam Tor!! It took me 2hours and 10 minutes to get here.
This is its unique trigpoint number.
I had to look for someone to take a photo for me since I didn't have a tripod, so I took the time to observe the people around and decided on this man, seemingly in his thirties, who was alone and seemed helpful enough to probably not reject my request.
And he was like "Oh this is your lucky day! I am quite an amateur photographer. I can give you directions."
I would like to think that he's just trolling me. Anyway he did ask if I liked the photo and I said "it's okay, thanks" and walked away HAHAH
This is just super hilarious and really, this is the kind of thing I expect to happen to me.
I waited for that guy to leave before asking someone else (a mother and daughter pair) to help snap a photo.

I mean, comparing this two photos, I have to give credit to the first guy because he made my legs look thinner HAHAHA
And it was another two hours walk back to the hotel.
I perspired so much just look at my jacket!!
Went to the Hope Valley Garden Centre for my post hike sustenance.
They were selling little summer houses! They are so cute!
This one is a sauna, and they also have other designs/functions like a bar, etc.
Compare it to the car behind for scale reference!
Had dinner back in the hotel's in-house fancy restaurant. Anyway, it's actually called Grafene restaurant.
Goat's cheese amuse-bouche again.
Can't remember what this is :x
omg I'm terrible, I can't remember the flavour of the butter. Must be so-so.
Duck and Pâté
The view the view the view!!!
Pork and Apple
Banana Ice Cream Sandwich

I probably have some unfairly high expectation for the restaurant (especially given the hassle of having to bring an outfit just for it), which explains why I was left disappointed by dinner on both nights. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great enough to justify the need for my extra outfit.
But it's not like there's anything else to eat in the vicinity so it's as good as it gets.
