After meeting up with my auntie in the UK, we drove out to the countryside where I was treated to amazing springtime views - fields of rapeseed flowers, and other spring flowers.
It's literally just 路边花 for the locals but I'm like "WAH!!! OMG!!!" the entire time, hahah.
The Children's Country House at Sudbury. They are only open on weekends (it was a weekday when we visited) so we didn't get to go in, not that we would anyway since it's a children's playhouse.
Robin Hood's Stride. A nice walk that got challenging towards the forested areas - think loose rocks and soil, steep steps...
I made it to the Hermit's Cave, but didn't take any photos because I FORGOT. Yeah, what the heck.
Stopped for lunch at Hassop Station Cafe. I was craving for a jacket potato even before I flew, so this worked nicely. For anyone that's not craving for a jacket potato, this would probably only score a 6/10 LOL. But this fed my craving so I score it a 7.5/10.
Savory Chive Scone. This was really disappointing. Remember I was disappointed by the scallion scones I had at Neptune? This was worse than that LOL.
Winnats Pass.
Didn't realise we jammed up the road OOPS.
Blue John Cavern.
For £15 and the amount of physical effort it takes to get to the deepest point of the cavern (it's technically not the deepest point of the cavern, but just the deepest point where they mined?) I think this is really not worth a visit.
There's 245 steps down each way.
And you see things like this.
Which is really just ???? to me LOL. Also, we had a very unenthusiastic guide, though I'm not blaming him for my subpar experience. It's really just the place. Maybe I would have found more value if it cost just £3 and like 10 steps down LOL.
Losehill House Hotel.
It's like a modern cottage in the middle of nowhere.
Nothing to fault about the room and the water pressure of the shower is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!
Our room comes with breakfast and dinner in their in-house fancy restaurant.
Amuse-bouche of goat's cheese scone and smoked salmon crisp.
Sourdough with guinness butter and normal salted butter. The guinness butter was pretty interesting.
Pigeon Pithivier (fancy term for a puff pastry)
Braised Beef, Caramelised Onion, Pommes Anna, Carrot, Broccoli, Jus
Chocolate Délice, Hazelnut, Dark Chocolate, Shortbread Raspberry
And then we fell asleep to the mehs of sheep.
