My (official) first day of exploring
2014-10-16 01.32.12 1

So after I was done with work, I headed to my hotel to check in!

And as expected, the taxi driver got lost (which cost me an extra 3000won). I said expected because my hotel is not situated on the main road, it's in one of the alleys near myeong dong!

It's called "Small House Big Door", which is an artsy boutique hotel. Very modern and simplistic. I think it's more suitable for the younger crowd, but not so for those traveling with family?

That cabinet you see there is a multi-purpose cabinet! It holds the TV as well. See below

The cabinet! It not just holds the TV, but also the fridge, acts as a table... etc. Talk about maximizing space..

Perhaps because it's fall and it's supposed to be turning cold, the hotel (and the one I stayed at while I was working) both had a 25degrees limit to the aircon! WHICH IS BAD NEWS FOR ME. But thank god this room has a window that I can open to get the cold air to come in. I was perspiring most of the time when I was in the room I stayed at while I was working.

But the thing is, if you open the window, you can't close the binds. It's an either or situation but the answer is clear for me, no way am I going to sleep in a hot room!

So even if it means I am inviting the opposite neighbours to see my less-than-glamourous sleeping form, I just had to do it.

I also brought along a disposable film camera with me! I'm very curious how the photos will turn out.

After meeting Gekkhim, we headed off to Garosu-Gil!

It's like a huge haji lane. Many artsy/indie/hipster shops and cafes!

Then we went to the express bus terminal after that, which is very very similar to 台北地下街。It's almost exactly the same! Same sizes of shops, arranged in the same parallel rows. The clothes there are really, really cheap!

Went to Myeongdong after that, and had samgyetang for dinner!

Which was a major disappointment. It's just so bland and tasteless! We were thinking if we picked the wrong restaurant, and we were totally rolling our eyes because we took quite some effort to find this particular restaurant since it had lots of good reviews! But anyway we later found out that it's supposed to taste like that, and the ones we have in Singapore have been modified to suit our local palates (i.e. saltier)

Still, it's very disappointing. Plus it's 20USD.

CHURROS! Omg the churros in Korea is SO DAMN GOOD. Can't help but feel that we are so 可憐 in Singapore, because the best churros we have in Singapore is totally not comparable to the ones we find on the streets in Seoul! Spanish doughnuts, you officially suck. Even the ones I had in Perth (from San Churro) also suck as compared to all the churros I had in Seoul. And it's just 2USD!!

Damn, I miss them already :(

Went in to O'sulloc for some (expensive) green tea ice cream!

That's 6USD for a scoop of ice cream. But they are really generous with their scoop, and the ice cream is heavenly. BEST GREEN TEA ICE CREAM I'VE HAD.

It's so creamy, smooth, not grainy at all, flavour is perfectly in balance: not too bitter, not too sweet.

They have other desserts as well, such as green tea roll, green tea tiramisu! But, I somehow found myself ordering the same thing when I came back here again. It's just too good.

N Seoul Tower! Something like how you'll see Taipei's 101 while walking around.

Ahh my tired face.

Went to Cheonggyecheon Stream after Myeongdong since the stream runs past the back of my hotel!
