Mandala Club is really out to suck me dry with their pop-up restaurants. First it was Mirazur, and now with Gaggan Anand. I just hope that the next pop-up they run is something I am not interested in... :x
So the damage came up to $456.67 for dinner (per head) and another $40 for drinks that night (1 cocktail and still water), which makes this the most expensive meal I've had. (I am not proud of my extravagant ways)
The food didn't suck. I enjoyed the entire experience, though I ended up with food poisoning the next day. But I am not a 100% sure where I got sick from, because Sarah wasn't as sick as me (just gassy) and there was no mass food poisoning outbreak reported (I suppose it would be newsworthy).
Can't remember what this is, which means it's super average.
Fish with Deconstructed Kaya and Assam Eggplant broth. I liked the Kaya sauce.
Some super special duck that was fed with only a particular something which made it very tender. The duck was tender indeed.
Chef Gaggan's take on Curry, which he sees as a disrespectful offspring of British colonialism. Anything thrown together can be called a curry, so here's a dish of things thrown together - Burrata, Uni, Fermented Squid, Curry Leaves (the only "correct" curry element), and Lust
No idea what it's made of.
Oh and it's held in an ice bowl that's claimed to be made using Himalayan Spring Water. Lol I mean I don't care what water they use to make the bowl, I just hope they don't reuse it.
Rice with Peas and Alaskan Crab Curry. The irony of him naming this a curry when it was just the course before that he tried to break the stereotype of curries. Hmmmm....
It was very good though.
Ice Cream Sandwich. I can't remember the flavour.
Chocolate Tiramisu. It's exactly that.
My guesses are on the left and the correct answer is on the right. Seems like there's something wrong with my tastebuds.
All in all an enjoyable experience that I'm good with trying just once.

But I didn't eat out for lunch that day, and no one else in my family was sick. So, yeah.
He wasn't there that night, unfortunately, though I wouldn't know how to deal with his larger than life personality if he comes over to our table. I'm always awkward when chefs come over to say hi, LOL.

We were not shown a menu before dinner. Instead, we were provided with rubber emoji stamps to use and note down what we thought we had along the way. This also means I am unable to share what I had that night accurately. Will be describing it using whatever taste and texture I can remember.
Yogurt Explosion (you can google this). This was tricky to eat!
Cured (or aged, can't remember) Hamachi with Kale.
Foie Gras Brain with Beetroot. This tasted like a savoury raspberry ripple ice cream.
Middle Finger Donut. We were instructed to pick it up using our middle finger. Tricky, once again.
It's like a sweet and savoury pani puri.
I THINK this is called Black Moon, which is like a fancy curry puff.
This was soooooo good! My favourite dish of the night.
Mushroom on Sourdough. The sourdough was wayyyy too hard. (please feed me with soft foods only thank you)
Dosa with.... conch... I think. So-so.
Duck Kebab. I can't remember if the meat was duck but the "stick" was duck feet. I remember thinking how nice it would be if I could bring the feet home for Piko and Kopi...

I think there's Alphonso Mango in there.
