I had loooooooooooong wanted to try this place but it has a month long waiting list which I lack the patience for. So glad that Xinyu and I summoned the patience to plan and book and try this place finally!!!
I'm just going to tell you right away that IT'S SUPER GOOD LIKE I FELT I WAS IN JAPAN
Very amused by this frozen towel which they give you instead of the usual towels. I went right after training that day so my body was still very warm and this was perfect for me.
I don't know about you, but nostalgia makes food taste much better for me and this hits all my long forgotten dust-covered memories!! I think there's purple shiso in the sauce, or something. Well anyway, it reminds me of the yukari seasoning which I add onto my rice when I was a kid - I could be having Nasi Lemak or Biryani, but as long as there's yukari seasoning on the rice, it's Japanese food to me.
We ordered the omakase style and apparently all tables get a different set of sticks! Meaning, the table next to mine could be having omakase style as well, but they might get sticks that we don't get and vice versa. This is quite a smart way of clearing the inventory by the end of the day.
The sticks on the right are lettuce wrapped with pork belly. Interesting combi which I loveeee.
Chicken skin!! Give me ten more of those!!
It doesn't quite show in this photo but it's a pork belly wrapped tomato.
Yaki Onigiri with a mustard/wasabi miso dip, i think.
