Despite requesting for a half-alcohol pairing (with the other half of the drinks replaced with non-alcohol), I still got drunk. But to be fair, Nouri serves one of the most generous drink pairings that I know of - $130 for 8 glasses! But anyway, the point is, I have missing gaps in my memory of that night. Here goes my best shot:
Sourdough Bread with Silken Cheese Dip and Vegetable Broth. The cheese dip was really good.
No idea what this is.
No idea what this is #2.
No idea what this is #3.
Alaskan Crab Leg with Vanilla and Black Pepper Sauce. The sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and savoury, super good.
Falafel-ish (NOT FALAFEL) thing with a tumeric and coconut sauce. The sauce was really tasty.
No idea what this is #4.
Grouper with Tumeric Foam.
Lamb Roulade.
Palate cleanser of some sort.
Mango and Saffron something.
With the pistachios sprinkled on top.
Sarah was the one who made the reservation, and considering that we went to Nouri in between our birthdays - two weeks after mine and one week before hers - I had absolutely no idea if she arranged this for herself, or for me. A long two-second pause ensued when they brought it out, so long that the chef quipped if we lied about the birthday to get a free tart. LOL
Petit Fours
I don't know if it's obvious from the photos but the portions were miserly. I mean, I wasn't expecting to be stuffed, but both Sarah and I weren't even half full. It's usually not surprising if I don't feel full from fancy dinners since I eat like a cow, but hey, if Sarah feels the same too...
We went over to dumpling darlings just across the street for more food.
ANDDDDDDDDD I blacked out after eating two dumplings, so don't ask me how's the place. Fuck we didn't even touch the lava eggs that we topped up for.

Back to Nouri-
The sauces were the standout element for every dish I remember having, and the drink pairing menu is really good value for money. With that said, I doubt I will ever return unless they start serving us decent portions, or halve the price.
