We flew in to Ivalo from Helsinki that morning, and travelled to Kirkenes.
Took a sledge ride out to the middle of the (frozen) lake for the catch.
It was like -15 degrees and one of them was working in just a tshirt, while the rest of us were dressed in survival suits.
FRESHEST CRAB I'VE EVER HAD. Life changing. I can no longer have any crabs without comparing it to this and not feel disappointed. We went to Hokkaido about a month after this and had horsehair crabs which were highly raved too, but all of us felt disappointed because they couldn't match up to this. Nothing can.
