Drum Tower + 798 Art Zone + National Museum
煎饼 for breakfast! Their 煎饼 is sooo good. The concept is kinda like... 菜饭。You can pick what you want in your wrap. I wasn't sure how to order since it was my first time ordering one, so I went with 全加 (everything). It came with a fried egg, fish, ham, sausage, and shredded potatoes. It's a chinese burrito.
Steep climb up the drum tower.
The view at the top was really good though.
798 Art Zone:
Strong European/Australian vibes at that place! 10/10 would recommend.
The temperature dropped quite significantly that day, so much so that we had to seek warmth in a cafe.
Really cool glass window which was molded like those heavy plastic flaps! It's an art zone afterall, I expect nothing less creative.
The art district is a cluster of decommissioned military factory buildings built by the East Germans, which probably explains the European vibe. Smokestacks can be seen from almost every corner.
Most of their museums were free to enter! You'll just need to carry your passport around with you, well, pretty much to everywhere. A lot of the attractions, such as the Forbidden City, use passports as the "entry ticket". You'll have to key in your passport number when you purchase your tickets, and they'll scan your passports at the door.
Golden hour at Tiananmen Square.
