Day 8: Segovia
Spent the morning exploring Ávila before heading towards Segovia
posing all around Spain hahaha
stopped by Alcázar castle on our way to the old town of Segovia!
quite fairytale-ish
and then the both of us, as usual, totally missed the point of the attraction and had our own photoshoot again!
pretty sure everyone else was judging us thinking "it's just autumn leaves on the ground" (see I told you the weather there was weird. autumn leaves in the midst of winter)
had lunch in Segovia before exploring the old town!
Ate at Meson de Candido, which was featured before by 食尚玩家! So of course we expected it to be good.
We had a 3 course set lunch.
The name of this soup is called "Sopa Castellana Siglo XV". It basically has bread soaked in the soup that could easily pass off as pig's skin if you didn't ask the waiter what's that, poached egg, bits of pork. Well the taste is very rich (the soup is more of the watery kind instead of a thick soup). Very interesting but I don't think I'll ever order it again haha.
The star of the meal!
I think he's the 3rd generation descendant or something, anyway he is from the founding family for sure. So he used the plate to portion the suckling pig, and then smashed the plate afterwards!
The skin was REALLY cripsy! And the fat was all nicely rendered out already! But still, it got abit jelat when I was halfway through it.
Something like a Mille-feuille served with ice cream!
feeling dreamy after eating all that pork lmao
