The next day, it was a long drive up to Chiang Rai!
Our midway toilet break brought us to a town with Hot Springs.

Eggs cooked in the Hot Springs, of course.

Bamboo sticky rice!

After more driving, we reached our first destination: Wat Rong Khun (see first photo of the post)
It's one of the prettiest temples I've been to, and definitely the most modern one. You can easily see pop culture influences throughout the temple! Such as Superman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Minions...

And this is the owner + designer of this temple! His idea of including pop culture to build a modern temple is to attract the young generation.

Hell, which looks like a moshpit as well.

Wishing tree!
After that, we went to the Golden Triangle! Really excited to visit this place because this place is legendary HAHAHA. I'm sure you must have heard of this place in the movies at least once.

That's Thailand on your left, Laos on your right, and Myanmar in the middle!

We actually went over to Laos but I didn't manage to get any pretty photos, so no photos here.

The legendary no man's land!
After that we went to the Myanmar border!

Apparently, Myanmar is 1 and a half hours behind Singapore, and half an hour behind Thailand. It's my first time hearing about an offset time difference!
This is very confusing.
After that we went to the Black House

It's a place where a very wealthy artist use to house all of his collections. He passed away 2 months ago, so his Son took over the place.
I'm really curious where did he get all the money to buy all the collections! It's a very huge place, with many different houses to house the different themes of collections. How many paintings do you need to sell to get so much money?!

It's like a theme park of collections.
Went to the Saturday night market after getting back to Chiang Mai!

Khao soi! YUMZ YUMZ YUMZ

Also had some lychee wine, which tasted more like lychee juice! Given that we are not an alcohol connoisseur, we basically like all kinds of alcohol which doesn't taste like alcohol. So we loved this one, hahahah
