Tried out this place for my 2nd sister's birthday, and the verdict is: I'm never going back there again.
Honestly, there are a lot of good steamboats out there, e.g. Fat Fish, and a lot of good steamboats out there which are cheaper than Hong Shi Yi.
Maybe it's the location (since it's in town, rent is defo not cheap), or maybe it's the deco.
Anyway all photos are taken via the phone camera, which explains the quality..

Cute. Anyway, the buffet was $28++ but given that the bill came up to $170 for the 5 of us.. I'm assuming that extra came from the service charge and tax and other hidden charges.
There's one particular waitress who was SO ANNOYING. I can't say that the service was bad, because they were attentive. But the waitress was so naggy and annoying, like she'll question your every intent and kept emphasizing that you have to pay this and that.
It's okay at first, but after a while I was like GOD MAKE THIS BITCH STAHP
For example, we asked her for the ala carte menu and she was like "you want to order things meh"
We cannot look meh.

Food was so so. Service wasn't bad but leaned towards the annoying side. So... decide for yourselves if you want to fork out extra for a not-impressive-at-all steamboat.

What are the odds of taking a blinking shot?
