I don't think I can get much work done here, with the throngs of tourists walking around taking photos?! I'll be so distracted!
We had dinner at Osteria Ilaria, which was highly recommend by my big sis.
The drink on the left is a citrusy cocktail, and the one on the right is a citrusy mocktail.
Oysters
House bread with whipped butter
Porcini mushroom croquette
Gold band snapper crudo, turnip, pomegranate
Abrolhos island scallops, sage, artichoke
Spaghettini with red mullet, fermented tomato, sea urchin
Black Truffle Pasta (daily special)
Chestnut scarpinocc, mushroom, wood sorrel
Gippsland duck breast, rainbow chard, pickled grapes
Heirloom potato, goats cheese, black garlic
Everything was really good, even my parents approved! They are very hard to please when it comes to "western food".
Our dessert was the watermelon cake from black star pastry that I had gotten earlier in the day. The world's most instagrammed cake is not a very taste cake, sadly. The layer of "sponge" tasted like soggy oatmeal which I think is what wet cardboard would taste like, LOL. Only worth trying if you are FOMO...
