"Why didn't you book it for the Good Friday weekend?" was the first thing my dad asked when I told him about the staycation. Indeed, planning a staycation for a long weekend would make more sense, but the rates were higher too. So I went with the weekend before that, which turned out to be a double blessing because the hotels were shut on the following Tuesday.
They each had their own beds with their names embroidered on it! They were also given atas water and snacks.
Shamefully, both dogs did not enjoy the staycation at all - they were homesick, and were whining all night for us to head home. LOL.
I would love to return to Capella for a staycation again, sans dogs.
