Rottnest Island
was in Perth the past weekend! and we decided to visit Rottnest Island since it's been a very long while since we last went there. (kind of like, who visits the same touristy places all the time?)
it was raining that morning but fortunately the sky cleared up while we were on our way there! it was a bumpy 45minutes ferry ride
clear beautiful skies!
also, we were real lucky to book a really good tour! There's many tours offered, some that worked on the "hop-on, hop-off" bus concept etc, and it seemed that all the other tours were really popular (packed buses and all) but our tour was just us + another family of 3 which meant a really empty bus! Not to say that our tour wasn't good. In fact, it was excellent! Our guide, Greg, was really friendly and knowledgeable and the thing about small tours is the guide can take better care of you hahahah
We booked our tour via Rottnest Fast Ferries, and it's called the "Grand Island Tour", run by ADAMS Pinnacle. So if you are ever thinking of popping by Rottnest Island, here you go
tuna wrap for lunch, complete with a hungry seagull eyeing our food.
AND I ACTUALLY GOT TO OPERATE A TRAIN?! LIKE SERIOUSLY?!!??
The operating panel was probably a simplified version of the real deal but anyway it was really fun?! and there's this thing called the vigilance button where it will sound off frequently (it was 54 seconds for that particular train) so whenever it sounds off, you have to turn the alarm off. This is a safety mechanism to make sure that the driver is awake! The alarm gets louder and louder as time goes by and if it's still not turned off, it will stop the train.
This design deserves an award.
"how do I speed up?"
anyway, I have no idea how people manage to take selfies with Quokkas. They are so difficult to get close to and they are really not as cute as I thought!
