Changi Village

It's funny that I've never explored Changi Village much, given that I stay just 10 minutes away from there.

Yesterday was the perfect nua day - a gloomy rainy day. Initially Eleen and I wanted to try out one of the chocolate bars.We started off with wanting to try Laurent Bernard Chocolatier (which is at Mohamed Sultan Rd), and then we changed to Max Brenner (which is at a more accessible Vivo City), and then we thought that there's a Max Brenner at Katong so we decided to go to that one, but later realised that the Katong one has closed down already.

So in the end, we settled for Chock Full of Beans at Changi Village. It's close to where we stay anyway. Chocolate bars can wait for another time.

We had to wait for an hour to get a table at Chock Full of Beans so we went to have some chendol first!

Been wanting to try this famous chendol for quite some time already! Apparently the stall holder travels to Malacca every fortnight to get his supply of gula melaka. And of course he ensures that all the other ingredients are fresh, too.

I have to say that the chendol is really awesome. Given that I stay so close to Changi Village, I can technically go there whenever I want just for this bowl of chendol.

Shortly after we were told that our table at Chock Full of Beans was ready!

Mushroom soup! I thought it was quite bland.

Rosti! Apparently their rosti is one of the more popular items. Well it's not bad. But I mean, I had my first rosti at Zurich... so the bar has been set real high.

So.. I thought that their rosti was mediocre.
