So, I went back to Spruce again yesterday night but this time round under much different circumstances - I was back as a customer this time.
Despite my disastrous experience working with the management for Timeout Thursday (remember?), I have always wanted to try the food because all their names look so tasty. And I'm super glad that I went back to try because THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD I COULD CRY.
And the service was so good also! Like what the hell man, what's with treating your working partner like shit but customers like kings. Okay I mean it is the thing to do (treating your customers like kings) but the disparity is just =.= But to be fair, only 1 dude in particular was giving me shit; all the other waiters and waitresses were super friendly during the event.
Okay I went out of point.
Point is, I am glad I went back to try their food.

THE SQUID IS SO JUICY AND SOFT. It's coated in some lemony butter sauce? And that mushroom custard ball. It's not filled with custard, but some mushroom filling with a custard-like consistency. SO GOOD TOO.

I SWEAR THIS IS THE BEST SALMON I'VE EVER HAD. CRISPY SKIN - CHECK. SUCCULENT MEAT - CHECK. WELL-ROUNDED FLAVOUR - CHECK.
That small saucer of unknown yellow sauce is redundant; we didn't touch it at all. The salmon is so so so so so good. It's so juicy it melts in your mouth! Like boomz. Like fireworks in your mouth. Someone please serve me this for every meal, thanks.

Lamb which I didn't try! (I don't eat lamb) But according to my sisters, it was really good too! Better than the ones they had in Australia? Hmm..

Old school Mac and Cheese. SUPER YUMZ TOO.

The Crème brûlée is like :o also. Nice and creamy!
But of course, how can everything be perfect? My mouthful of disappointment came from their date pudding:

It's not awful.. but it's very 松散, which I don't think that's how a date pudding should be like! I always thought, or at least I have always preferred my date pudding to be chewy.
Anyway,I'll definitely come back again! The food is really expensive but worth it.
I'll be back for you, salmon.
