We had breakfast at 永和豆浆 a couple of mornings.
This bowl of harmless looking concoction is their 咸豆浆, which I didn't like at all. Nice to try though, but it is just too weird for me. I've grown up associating 豆浆 to something on the sweeter side, definitely not savoury. There's like soy sauce, scallion, shallot, youtiao etc etc in there, and somehow it starts to curd after a while! Not for me.
We hired a driver to take us to 野柳, 金瓜石,九份,十份 etc.
There were so many mainland tourists at 野柳! Alot of Koreans as well.
The legendary Queen's head. I swear it just got smaller over the 2 years since I last came.
My 2nd attempt at a lookbook shot.
Cute dog that followed us around.
What you see above is called 发夹弯. Note that it was raining that day, so basically you got to drive really carefully. HOWEVER, our driver wanted to impress us with his drifting skills, and so he drifted down hill. O-M-G. As if that wasn't enough, he also drifted his way back to Taipei city from our last destination, which involved overtaking vehicles at such winding paths and slippery roads, at night.
吓死我们了。
Us being such typical Singaporeans...
Different colours represent different things!Oh, and the guy that helped us light up our 天灯 was so cute! He was like "1,2,3 look at me. 1,2,3 look at me" So basically he was saying this throughout. (Because he was trying to help us take photos while teaching us what to do) And he is a good photographer too! The cover photo of this post is taken by him, 超有感觉的!!
My favourite from 九份!It's something like a honey and red dates cake, super nice!
Day 8:
We went to the zoo!
Had breakfast at 永和 again, this time round I opted for something more normal.
Took the cable car up to 猫空!We took the gondola with the glass flooring!
But the glass was foggy so we couldn't see anything:(
It was super cold up there! The weather forecast states 14 degrees but it felt more like under 10.
Pandas!
They were obviously the main attraction of the whole zoo! Only that part of the zoo was packed, the other parts were relatively empty. And we were only allowed to see the pandas upclose once!
That's the new addition to their panda family!
Dinner at 胡须张, the 猪脚 is damn y.u.m.z
Watched American Hustle that night as well. I found Rosalyn super annoying, wanted to kill her since the moment she appeared! Urgh.
Stay tuned for more photos from my trip! (And remember to read Day1 to 6 if you haven't!)
