Sorry for the lack of updates.
All is well. Despite my constant complaints about not having enough work to do at the office, I am really enjoying my stay there.
Everyone in the office is really nice. And I even received 4 Monkey Majik albums!!!
The first week was a pretty rough one for me.
I had problems getting to work and home. It's either taking the wrong bus, or getting lost on the way to the MRT station from the office (it's not exactly close..)
Then of course, there's the awkwardness of being the new one in the office.
And most importantly, I still can't get used to this whole working and not going to school thing. I still don't understand how people get use to this whole working adult life. At least I still have 2 more semesters in school after this internship, or if I wish, I can even go on to Masters. But of course, not thinking about Masters at all, at least for the time being. I'm losing faith in my education anyway.
But I am really lucky in many sense. Everyone in the office is really, really nice. So assimilating wasn't a problem. And my working hours are pretty flexible! If you come in at 9, then you leave at 6. If you come in at 10, then you leave at 7. So there's no "OMG I'M RUNNING LATE" situations. AND THE DRESS CODE! It's the best part. I have been wearing shorts to work everyday for the past week, hah!
And also, I love the Chinese speaking environment! And being able to work with Chinese stuff. Afterall, my dream was to be a journalist for a Chinese paper, up until not too long ago. Feels great, especially since I hardly get to speak to anyone in Chinese back in school!
Some photos to show you what's going on. All photos in this post are taken by my phone, hence the lousy quality. Btw, I am thinking of changing my phone! Really really really want to go back to Nokia. Guess I've had enough fun, if you want to put it this way, with the super mainstream stuff. I miss using a Nokia phone. Sorry Samsung, 你能得到我的人可是得不到我的心
MONSTER PORTION SALTED EGG YOLK FRIES WITH CHINYEE ON FRIDAY NIGHT. 贪小便宜 lor! Cos they were selling it for "triple the portion, half the price" as a Friday's special! But anyway, we didn't manage to finish it. A very interesting dish. Not exactly delicious, but interesting.
Steamboat for Mother's Day!
THE BEST PIG INTESTINE PORRIDGE IN THE WORLD, FLOWN IN FROM PENANG. SO GOOD. AND THE COCONUT JELLY IN THE FOREGROUND IS THE BEST TOO. SO GOOD.
Vegan Burger for lunch last friday! Going vegan for a week is still on my to-do list. But I'm afraid it's very difficult. I gave up after just half a day last friday, because the vegan burger proved to be unfilling due to the lack of meat. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious and I was full after eating the burger, but the lack of meat just made me go hungry again after just 2 hours.
But of course, I am not deterred and I am going to try going vegan again....soon.
