AHBAND NATIONAL BAND COMPETITION 2ND DIVISION: GOLD WITH DISTINCTION!

zomg!! i'm so proud of ahband seriously, and i'm even more proud of perc!

and we even topped the division okay! feels weird to use the term we, since i didn't participate.

okay shall start off with this morning, so this morning woke up at 0530 and reached school at 0630

and saw jingyi outside the bandroom! her clarinet got ants and stuff! but anyway in the end it was settled

hanged out in the bandroom for awhile, see them prac and stuff then off to vch!

went there via lorry! but it was an enclosed lorry so i couldn't wave to any drivers

and it was super hot in there! POOR VENTILATION. and the instruments were like going to fall and stuff, EXCITING!

weisiong, yanhao weyjian louis huiling and i took the lorry!

anyway, somehow we reached there earlier by the bus so we unload the instruments and stuff and wait outside vch for a while

this red car was speeding cos it was still pretty early and there wasn't much vehicles on the road, VROOOOOM!

soon after, the rest of the band arrived:)

and some of us were laughing over this banner

cos its like, 1979-2009, means you lived for 30 years? and they actually put 2009, as in, they mean the person in that banner will die next year? haha retarded!

anyway after a while we went off to the tuning room, which i found it rather pretty!

then we (sec4s) left them and went to the concert hall






THEN AHBAND WENT ON STAGE!










warabe was better than boushu, for me.

and for warabe there was this part where rex has to hit the gong and he hit abit too loud and i heard from the rest of the band people that on stage, the gong covered the rest of the band

but for the audiences and judges, it sounded really really good! the gong managed to leave an impact, a powerful and majestic one okay!

as in, its very loud but it didn't cover the band and the horns were really really good cos they managed to stand out from the loud gong!

i guess yihao must be feeling really proud, just like how i felt when i saw percs playing.

when i heard rex playing the toms, fann playing the xylo, delphine playing the timpani, yongquan playing the bassdrum, weizhang playing the vibes, i was so proud and i carn help it but tell other people that ' HEY THEY ARE MY JUNIORS OKAY!'

anyway after that some other bands played as well and they sounded good too! especially st pat! when they started playing many of the audiences were like, win liao

and i was like, wow this competition is for them la. they were so so so good! but they were late i think.

and they only clinched a silver! i was very shocked when they announced that st pat got silver cos i really thought that they played very well, in fact i couldn't catch anything bad about them, hmm.

but i guess its cos they are late?

anyway during the interval weizhang was emoing cos he think he play badly? ( yea he didn't play very well actually) and rex was quite upset with his bongo parts and gong part? ( although the audiences felt that the gong was good, the rest of the band thought that the gong was bad cos on stage the gong covered everything)

then rex weizhang huiling and i went to the cafeteria, and rex treated me to ice lemon tea! haha how nice lalalala:)

anyway after that we heard 5 more bands played and then the results! it was quite a long and torturous wait cos everyone was very nervous

fastfoward**

sat next to yongquan when they released the results and i was holding his hand. feels so much like syf back then. everyone was holding each other's hand, i was actually quite scared and didn't know what to expect, what if they announced a silver? it will be pretty bad. but anyway i didn't have much time to think much cos the lady announced that we got 85.0 and i rmb hearing shiling scream as though there is no tomorrow or what.

everyone started screaming and i started crying hahahaha stupid retard, i was so touched okay haha

and i heard that mr and mrs chua cried! hahah so touching la..




CHAOTIC.

while waiting for our bus i went around telling fann and weizhang : how come yall get GWD when yall play so lousy ah?

i seriously hope that ahband won't be complacent. complacent is like the number1 killer.

anyway i think they are performing for next saturday's band of honor and award ceremony? hopefully i can get the tickets and go okay hahahaha:)
