Beauty & The Beast // So much gelato I can't even
After my very disappointing experience from CATS, I decided not to spend money on watching Beauty & The Beast simply because I can't handle another disappointment. (Though I really really really wanted to watch it)
But lucky me got to watch it for free, thanks to James and LF!! And my seat was legit. The view from my seat was amazing! (to quote LF, "老闆坐的位置會差到哪裡") *insert love eyes emoticon*
And the musical was ah-mazing. Excellent cast and stage design (though Belle's iconic yellow dress looked more like a chrysanthemum than a pretty dress..). Most importantly, THERE WAS A LIVE ORCHESTRA! So everything sounded amazing.
CATS was absolutely crap, but Beauty & The Beast regained my confidence in musicals (in Singapore)!
After that we went to the Gelato World Tour!
Very misleading tickets. Initially we only bought 1 ticket, but after seeing the line "with 2 tasting (coupons) you get a cup", we thought that 1 ticket will only give us 4 cups. So decided to get 2 tickets, so that we can get to try 8 cups (there was 16 stalls for us to try from).
But maybe they were being generous since it was the last day of the tour; 1 coupon alone got us a cup. Meaning, we had 16 coupons for 16 cups LOL
Death by gelato, really. Being a huge ice cream lover, I thought that I'll be able to handle 16 cups. But we all died by the 11th cup. I can't even tell which is what from the photos. Anyway, here's some of the good and bad ones:
Some tiger beer creation by a local gelato artisan! Yumz!
Mango and purple yam gelato by a Filipino artisan. The tartness of this gelato was much welcomed since our palettes were exhausted by all the sweet gelato by then. By saying "by then", I mean our 4th cup, LOL.
Chendol gelato! Good stuff.
Okay here's some of the bad ones:
BALSAMIC VINEGAR, TOFU AND RED DATES GELATO. A charismatic Italian artisan was serving this, so of course, I fell prey to his charming spells (picture a Casanova handing you a cup of gelato, patiently explaining to you his creation while shooting you with megawatt smiles).
To put it nicely, it's an acquired taste. Which is a taste I can't fathom.
But, I still went through 3/4 of it (I didn't want to break the cute artisan's heart ❤ )
This is an entry by a Vietnamese artisan. I hate it because it's eggnog. Hate that"eggy" taste! But it's definitely just my problem; everyone else seemed to love it!
Gelato stuffed bellies and faces.
